Falling Coal Prices Still Enough to Support West Virginia Budget

Despite plummeting coal prices and lessening demand for metallurgical coal, the state budget in West Virginia remains intrinsically linked to the coal industry.  Plans to extract once-promising natural gas are now stalled as revenue officials turn their attention to maintaining current coal production levels to balance the coming year's budget.
